Krina Terminology Guide

This guide defines key terms used consistently across Krina documentation.

@mention — A reference to a person in Jira, Confluence, or Jira Service Management using the @ symbol (e.g., @Alice). Krina monitors @mentions and classifies them automatically.

Mention — An @mention that Krina has processed. Used interchangeably with “@mention” in this documentation.

Inbox — Your personal Krina action item list showing all @mentions classified and ready for action.

Action Item — A single mention that has been classified by Krina across Action, Urgency, and Impact dimensions.

Classification — The AI analysis of a mention across three independent dimensions: Action, Urgency, and Impact.

Action — What you need to do with a mention. Seven types: Respond, Review, Approve, Fix, Build, Watch, or Note.

Urgency — How soon the mention needs attention. Four levels: Critical, High, Normal, or Low.

Impact — Who is affected by the mention. Four scopes: Customer, Revenue, Team, or Individual.

Escalation — Automatic increase in urgency as a deadline approaches. An item marked High may escalate to Critical as the due date gets closer.

Follow-up — A due date set on a mention to remind you to take action. You can set follow-ups manually or Krina can suggest them (Advanced tier).

Personal Reminder — A reminder you set on an issue or page without waiting for an @mention. Created using the “Track This” button in the Krina panel.

Follow-Up Automation — Advanced tier feature with three modes:

  • Off — No automation; you set all follow-up dates manually
  • Suggest — Krina suggests follow-up dates based on detected deadlines; you accept or dismiss each one
  • Auto-create — Krina automatically creates follow-ups on actionable mentions without your approval

Krina Panel — The interface showing mentions and tracked items directly in Jira issues and Confluence pages.

Follow-ups View — Tab in the Krina inbox showing all items you’ve marked for follow-up, sorted by date.

Dashboard — Overview of your mention statistics, filtered by Action, Urgency, and Impact.

AI-Glance Summary — A 3–5 word AI-generated summary of a mention appearing on each action item card.

Countdown Label — A text label showing time until a deadline (e.g., “Today,” “Tomorrow,” “In 3 days,” “OVERDUE”).

Escalation Arrow — A small up arrow (↑) next to the urgency badge indicating the urgency was automatically raised as the deadline approached.

Resolved — You have marked a mention as complete and removed it from your inbox. Resolved items are deleted after a 10-second undo window.

Tracked — A personal reminder you’ve set on an issue or page using the “Track This” button.

Muted — A mention from a project or author you’ve chosen to hide from your main inbox view (still visible if you toggle “show muted”).

Notification Settings — Controls for how you’re reminded about follow-ups (in-app reminders, native notifications).

Data Retention — How long items stay in your inbox before being automatically removed (default 90 days, adjustable 30–365 days).

Muted Projects — List of Jira projects from which mentions are hidden from your inbox.

Muted Authors — List of people whose mentions are hidden from your inbox.

Mention Data — The comment text, issue/page context, and classification stored when a mention is processed.

Sanitization — Automatic removal of sensitive information (email addresses, phone numbers, API keys, etc.) before comment text is sent to the AI for classification.

PII (Personally Identifiable Information) — Sensitive data like email addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, social security numbers that Krina removes before AI analysis.

Forge SQL — Atlassian’s hosted relational database where Krina stores your mention data.

Standard Edition — The base Krina offering with manual follow-up management ($4–$6 per user/month).

Advanced Edition — Premium Krina tier with AI-powered follow-up automation ($7–$10.50 per user/month).

Jira Seat — A licensed user in your Jira instance. Krina pricing is based on seat count.
